What is Chromhidrosis? (Definition/Background Information)

  • Chromhidrosis is a rare medical condition of generally unknown cause that causes colored sweat to be produced
  • The condition may involve different areas of the body, including the face, armpits, and groin. The sweat may be pink, blue, green, or black and can stain clothing
  • Chromhidrosis may be managed using antiperspirants and medications and by avoiding exacerbating factors/triggers. The prognosis is generally good with adequate treatment, but it may also depend on its severity
