Nirav Patel, DO, received his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCUMB). He is double board certified in Anesthesiology and interventional pain management. Nirav has been associated with Dove Med since its infancy. He has also served as a contributing editor and technical specialist for CIBCAA (Central Illinois Breast Cancer Awareness Association). During his medical school, he has done extensive research in the development of a 3-dimentional colon cancer model for studying anti-tumor activities of macrophages. Through Nirav’s research project we now know that 3D culturing of colon carcinoma cells is possible. He has also actively participated in stem cell research at UIUC to understand pluripotency of human embryonic stem cells and signals that control differentiation of those cells. He is currently working as an interventional pain management specialist with specific interest in neuromodulation.

Nirav currently serves as an Associate medical director reviewing articles and material related to pain management. He has previously served as a chief editor for first aid center and radiology procedures.

Growing up and volunteering with Red Cross in rural areas of India, Nirav has seen the need and importance of health information through technology such as Dove Med in patient education. Nirav believes that reliable, up-to-date, and straight to the point information provided by Dove Med would help patients take their health in their own hands and play an active role in their healthcare.
