Dr Sunderamoorthy is a Trauma & Orthopaedics Consultant working in the NHS hospitals Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole District General hospital in the United Kingdom. He has been a Consultant in the NHS since 2012, specializing in treating elective adult foot and ankle and lower limb conditions. He is also involved in the management of general and specialist foot and ankle trauma. Dr Sunderamoorthy did his MBBS in the reputed Madras Medical College in Chennai, India and he came to the United Kingdom to do his postgraduate training in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Dr Sunderamoorthy did his Basic Surgical Training in the South Wales and he gained his MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh. He has done his specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in the Liverpool rotation. He gained his fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2009 and he has been in the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council for Trauma and Orthopaedics from May 2010. Dr Sunderamoorthy has also done fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery and knee surgery.

Dr Sunderamoorthy is keen on doing audit and research and he has published articles in the peer reviewed journals. He has also authored chapters for books in foot and ankle surgery. He has a keen interest in teaching and training. He has trained numerous registrars who have gone on to become consultants in the NHS. He is also an examiner for the MBBS in the Hull and York Medical School.

Dr Sunderamoorthy helps in providing evidence based knowledge in the fields of Orthopaedic Surgery and Trauma. He creates and reviews medical content related to orthopaedics.
