Biographical Information

Alexandra Warren is a recent graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, having earned a BS in Biochemistry and a BA in Biology. Alexandra has extensive research experience, having conducted research at Exion Labs working with Dr. David Augeri on the synthesis of small molecule drug conjugates to deliver 10-hydroxycamptothecin to HER-2 (+) breast and ovarian cancer. She also conducted research at the University of Northern Iowa with Dr. Robert Martin Chin on the silylation of carbon hydrogen bonds using a zinc catalyst. Alexandra gained valuable teaching experience through her role as a laboratory teaching assistant in both organic chemistry and general chemistry. She also tutored student athletes in physics, chemistry, and biology at UNI. Alexandra continues to volunteer her spare time tutoring underserved students in both biology and chemistry. Alexandra has been recognized for her achievements through numerous honors and awards, including the ACS Outstanding Undergraduate Senior Organic Chemistry Student Award and the ACS Undergraduate Award in Physical Chemistry. She is also an active member of the American Chemical Society and served as the chapter president her final two years at UNI. Alexandra currently works as a pathology laboratory assistant at Christie Clinic in Champaign, IL, where she assists in processing tissues, cytology specimens, and gynecological specimens. She aims to continue her education and attend medical school in the future, where she hopes to make a direct impact on patients' lives.
