Dr. Nizamuddin HM Shaik, MD, FRCS is working as a Consultant Ophthalmologist with specialized interest in Vitreoretinal Disorders and Cataract Surgery in International Medical Center, a large multispecialty hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Previously, he worked as a Consultant Ophthalmology and Vitreoretinal Surgeon in prestigious King Abdulaziz University Hospital, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He worked as an Assistant Professor and Vitreoretinal Surgeon in renowned St John’s Medical College, Bangalore, before leaving for Saudi Arabia. He holds an MD in Ophthalmology from India’s premier medical university, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS Glasgow). He also holds twin fellowships (Research and Vitreo-Retina) from prestigious Sankara Nethralaya (Eye Hospital), Chennai. His areas of interests include Vitreo-Retinal Diseases, Cataract Surgery, Uveitis, Ocular Trauma and Retinopathy of Prematurity. He actively teaches medical students and residents in the university and involves himself in clinical research. He has multiple publications in peer reviewed journals.
