Dr. Sankaranarayanan Krishnamoorthy is a Consultant Neonatologist at Childs Trust Hospital, Chennai, India. He graduated from the prestigious Madras Medical College followed by a postgraduate degree in Paediatrics from Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai. He also completed his advanced super specialty training by successfully finishing a DM in Neonatology from LTM Medical College, Mumbai. He then moved to the United Kingdom for further Pediatric and Neonatal training. After completing his training he moved back to Chennai. In United Kingdom, he got additional advanced training including CCT Paediatrics (December 2012, General Medical Council UK), CCT Subspecialty Neonatal Medicine (December 2012, General medical Council UK) and prestigious MRCPCH in November 2005 from Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He has extensive experience and knowledge of working in Paediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care in India as well as in the National Health Service (UK). He is passionate about teaching and has taught, appraised and mentored medical students, doctors in training, nurses and colleagues in India during his post graduate training in Paediatrics and in Neonatology in India. In the National Health Services, he has supported trainees, medical staff and nursing staff in their education and training. He is an OSCE examiner for medical students at the University of Central Lancashire. As a continuum of his interest in medical education, he undertook and successfully completed the Post graduate Diploma in Medical Education from the University of Manchester. As part of this diploma, he researched, analyzed and completed several articles on the theories of medical education, the various methods of assessment, the role of simulation, the use of inter-professional teaching and the importance of medical leadership in medical education. He has given multiple guest lectures and published number of peer reviewed articles. He has written review articles in the Pediatric clinics of India to provide an evidence based update into common neonatal problems for post graduate pediatric doctors. In addition he has also written a chapter in Caesarean Birth, a book published by the Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecologists of India to provide an insight into the neonatal aspects of Caesarean birth. His current interests and expertise are in neonatal ventilation and early enteral nutrition in preterm neonates. He teaches postgraduate trainees in Paediatrics and post doctoral trainees in Neonatology.

Dr Krishnamoorthy is the head editor of pediatric center at DoveMed. He composes, reviews and suggests topics in pediatric speciality.
